Charles Rennie Mackintosh was born in Townhead Glasgow

In 2009, the Clydesdale Bank issued a series of £100 notes with Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s image featured.

In 1901 Mackintosh designed House for an Art Lover however this was not built during his lifetime, building work started in 1989 and completed in 1996.

The property was once owned by John Hunter Watt and was a well known venue for literary get-togethers, the house has played host to Charles Dickens, Hans Christian Andersen, George Eliot and Lord Tennyson among others.

The property is set in 4.4 acres of land alongside stables and a Gatehouse.
